Imparting the spirit and history of Africa with drums, Michael's love of traditional rhythm and folklore transports his audiences from cultural appreciation to cultural engagement.  And besides, drums are fun!  A world renowned percussionist and educator, Michael’s performing credits include Flora Purim & Airto, Sun Ra, Richie Havens, and the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
